NMNとは?

What is NMN?

"NMN (N M N)." It's hard to read, isn't it? However, NMN is currently attracting a lot of attention because it "prevents aging!?"

In April of this year, a group led by Professor Shinichiro Imai of the University of Washington in the United States was the first in the world to announce that "NMN is effective in combating aging in humans." Experiments on mice have already produced dramatic results.

NMN is a type of vitamin B3. It is widely found in foods such as vegetables. You may be wondering what that is, but the amount of NMN contained in natural foods is very small. You cannot expect any effect from simply consuming it in your regular meals. Therefore, for now, the only way to get it is through supplements.

How does NMN "prevent aging"? Let me explain a little bit.

NMN is converted into a substance called "NAD" in the body. It can be confusing because both start with the letter N. However, it is this NAD that activates the "longevity gene(*)."

(※It is called "Sirtuin gene")

When "longevity genes" are activated, "normal cell division" is promoted. This has been proven in many animal experiments. When damaged DNA is repaired and energy production by mitochondria in cells increases, "faulty cell division" is reduced. In other words, aging is suppressed.

In fact, NAD is a substance that exists in the body, steadily and steadily taking care of cells. And NAD itself decreases with age. Its existence has been known for 100 years, and it was thought that "the decrease in NAD is probably one of the causes of aging."

No one would have imagined that the humble NADs have the power to activate longevity genes! This function was only discovered a dozen years ago.

So, when you get older, you might think that you should take in something called NAD, but this is difficult. For some reason, you can't take in NAD itself, but rather "substances that turn into NAD in the body (called precursors)."

One of the NAD precursors is NMN!

(Phew, thanks for joining us.)

As I mentioned before, it is impossible to get NMN from food, so you need to take NMN as a supplement, have it converted into NAD in the body, and activate the "longevity genes."

There have been reports of "real-life examples" of elderly people who have taken NMN supplements continuously and seen clear improvements in their physical and cognitive abilities within a few months. One easy-to-understand example is that they walk faster. When walking with friends of the same age, their stride length and pace no longer match those of the others.

Of course, there are big individual differences, and as I wrote at the beginning, medical and scientific evidence is still in its infancy. We don't know at all what side effects may occur if you take it for many years.

Despite this risk, many NMN supplements are already on the market. Until recently, a one-month supply would have cost hundreds of thousands of yen, but the price has now dropped to a few tens of thousands of yen. Still, it is by no means cheap.

However, what if it were really possible for the metabolism of your body's cells to return to "normal" like when you were younger, for the decline in your abilities to be halted, and even for you to be able to do the things you used to be able to do again ... ?

As an investment in yourself, you can expect a huge return.
